I'm StereoPhographer now, I have am FinePix REAL 3D W3!

The only one question is still exists. This is a new, old, or newest technology? Hm....
It will be amazing for everyone...this is an OLD TECHNOLOGY. I'm talking about IMAX?
No! Please, look at this one (www.ixbt.com):

   Unfortunately, I'm not familiar in French(I hope in English too :) ). But They are a stereocameras  was produced a more 106 years ago! To tell a true, i was thinking about compact digital camera for myself. What kind of camera is enough?Super zoom, super compact, super small and etc....super. I have a some  experience with the my Film compact camera from Pentax. 

  

This super zoom toy (28-120mm) was a my good friend in the photo when I'm walking. However, a high ISO films will be useful on it only, an aperture size (5.6-11) according. The FinePix 3D W3 have an more fast 35-105 zoom lens. The cameras are a same size both. Let's look at the photographs can Pentax do (landscape and portrait - with a flash firing). It was a very beautifully, the flash was not firing on in the Landscape scene. I have not a battery pack which is a powerful enough:)

I think not bad that! All pictures was taken with the Fuji Superia 400 Negative Film. I was not trying an Velvia slides yet. However, my favorite Fujichrom colors can be processed on FinePix REAL  3D W3 as well. This pictures are demonstrate a full power of the FinePix colors in Fujichrom mode,

Hm....no bad too! I think about selling my Pentax at the e-bay!  It's joke :) A main question still exists, what about 3D? This kind pictures are a very hard for viewing. You must have a special glasses for viewing...However, an animated GIFs can show you a some kind of he 3D World from FinePix camera

I think you understanding me. I can view FinePix 3D pictures(*.MPO) on my 3D LG TV, with the glasses. Moreover, i can view a 3D video from my FinePix camera. This TV is equipped with IPS matrix. Yes, I'm full of emotions!

Upgrading...

    Hello everybody, This is a Time for the new story starting. After the 2 years of silence I have decided to tell a new one. First, I'm completely "upgraded" now. I'm "a new one". I have a new working place in the education and science. But I will tell everything one after another. 

   Unfortunately, I left my University more 20 years I was working at which. It's a very long story. However, in a few words, a salary becomes a so small as an microbes. Moreover, my courses was not needed for anybody after a so called "reforms" was done! The Staff age came up to 75 years by average. I told myself - will suffice! "Too early" , to remain here yet. :) 

   Now, I'm working in Moscow Humanitarian and Economics University at Applied math Department.

Second, i have not changed a my science direction from Geology in the new Department of the Russian Academy of Science. So, i'm "upgraded" a twice! :) Any shocks don't happen without consequences. So it happened and to my private life. But I don't want to speak about it. Moreover, this isn't interesting to nobody. Let's talk about "technology" now.

   I was working in my old Macintosh at the Snow Leopard OS X up to recent time. Upgrading myself process was leading to my computer upgrading too, you can see him (he is hided under my IKEA table :) )

I have added a Blue-Ray drive on the bottom slot for video editing. And finally, a "new" OS was installed as MAC OSX Lion. WOAW, I have a new interface....but some useful programs isn't working now! My "new MAC" is now :

Now, my MAC is getting a second "breath"! My "fantastic" upgrade procedure was ended.

I have a "new looking MAC" and .... some of my old software doesn't work which! :) Surprise! There is no more support for PowerPC applications from Apple. Great result. What will be next? I know about MAC OSX Mountain Lion...the same Lion, but a bit "bald" :) . I think that it will be a catastrophe for my MAC Pro 2,1. This is time to say "STOP". Why people are doing "upgrades"?

 I think, a hands itch simply!

    A more interesting thing which i have bought recently, is a 3D digital camera from FujiFilm. It will be a some intrigue for the my next Blog record. Yes, it will be happening faster than 2 years! :)

Moscow Photographic Forum 2011

Well, there is a time for the new record in my blog making! ;)
First, when we say about Modern Photographic Equipment we say about Japan as well.
When we say about Japan we are staying under a Human Tragedy pressure now.
Some people, who "loves a photography" are says about prices discount on DSLR on this background. They are waiting... ;) Unfortunately, i can't for discuss with "photographers" this. I hope you understand me. I hope we understand that discussion about this is amoral now! I want to say for Japan's people about supporting, my own supporting by soul. In this extremely hard time for Islands.
Ok, "Japan in Russia 2011" will start in this Friday. If you have an any question, please don't hesitant to write me. Please, welcome to the Show!

This is absolutely free Show. You need an Internet registration for entrance only. Unfortunately, this show becomes a worse and worse with the years. I think that Photography is lost as art and passes in area of household entertainments and struggle of technologies. Ok, and what about Show? The one interesting thing you can view, when you are inside

What is this? This is a Help to Japan. I very hope it will help to someone really!
In this year the Photo Show was mixed with the Consumer Electronics Show in one square. They was in different sections and floors in the past years.
Traditionally, a Sony Stand was a most interesting for me. The perfect models, lot of technologies and very friendly a staff.

During a few years I think about changing my camera to the something new. However, for what? I was trying the several DSLR from Nikon line including a FF cameras. Unfortunately, they can't replace my Fujifilm DSLR S5Pro. I can't see a same level like S5pro give me. Because this i'm still happy with my old toy for a while. Moreover, my wife is happy too. :) When people ask me about full format, i say that i'm already have it. I have my Nikon F100 film camera the full Fujifilm "sensors" generations are included which in!I'm already wrote 'Why i'm still shooting on a film' once ;) Understanding that from Fujifilm of miracles it is not necessary to wait, I have approached to stand Fujifilm on what without hoping. However i was no right. Something like a " retro brilliant" i have found on the Company's stand

This is a new camera model from Fuji, named as X100. First mirrorless compact camera(with the APS-C sensor)with the "hybrid viewfinder" looking like a Leica old fashion style camera. I heard already about this model. I very much wanted to try it. However, it was impossible :( To every camera was mounted with the alarm system and metallic rope. Moreover the couple of strong muscule guys was applied to it too! :) More shortly, it was impossible to insert a flash card because the "communication interfaces" (cable and alarm) was close to a card slot. This new camera so remained for me a riddle...
I asked about new DSLR from Fujifilm. Traditionally from FujiFilm , "no words about this". However, when with the Fuji staff i was talking a more closely I has learned that a some disagreements with Nikon for Fuji DSLR body's supplier was occur.
During a Show walking you can feel a Japanese Soul an everywhere!

Education in Russia. Does we really need the Universities?

Lets stop talking about photography for a moment.
Now I would like to talk about other things.
The matter is that the most part of "Me", is occupied in Education, for a while. While other part is compelled to earn money, for example making a photograph as well. :)
This is a Moscow State Geological Prospecting University(RSGPU) i'm working where.

Unfortunately, a time with a grants for scientific works has passed. Now only some creative collectives continue the work, for rather modest payment. The serious companies and firms are not interested in scientific researches for the enterprises. Middle age of employees of University has come nearer to... 75 years!The youth does not wish to work in science and education - too poor salary.
The literature of leading Western editions is not ordered and translated any more. Ministry of Education and Science has no either money or desire. The leading Russian company on transfer and distribution of the technical literature - publishing house MIR has gone bankrupt. Its premises are transformed into warehouses.
Actually, students are deprived access to the technical literature on world perspective and HITEC. Russian students are still receive the knowledges limited to level of the middle of 70th years of the last century! In a current of last time I had to develop modern courses for students-mathematicians and students in the field of geoinformatics. Now these directions are cut down.
"Applied mathematics" speciality in my University will be closed. My courses are necessary to nobody more!
It occurs not only at RSGPU but at the other Universities of Moscow also. For example, closing of the whole University of Economics and Statistics is accepted decision now!
Finally, let's consider a some facts. The Government has reported about increase a post-graduate students salary from present 1500 RUB to 2500 RUB in a month!( from 50 to 85 US dollars accordingly). It is absolutely serious!
By the way, the prices level in Russia are corresponds to the Central European prices.

P.S. However, here that is surprising. The unique University which is engaged in an estimation of rocks, diamonds and other mineral raw materials is in such pitiable condition!According to some information, the reconnoitered stocks of oil in Russia will suffice for near 10 years only....

Why I'm still shooting on a Film?

PREFACE.
Yes, it is dispute lasts already enough for a long time. The film "died" not one year already: with each new year, to it prophesy inevitable destruction. I would like to take from well-known phrase from Bernard Shaw - " hearings about destruction of a film are strongly exaggerated "! :)

COMPARISON(please, click on images for viewing).
Well, let's look to this shots two, the film is one of them. Yes, I'm understand really that they are "digital" both!The first picture(up) was taken by the Fuji S5Pro digital camera. By the way, an electric column was cleaned on it. The second picture(down) was taken by the Nikon F100 film camera, Fuji Provia 100F film. It was scanned on a Nikon 5000ED film scanner.

What we can say about a difference of this pictures two?I don't say about a white balance or colors palette. At first look, we can see that a "digital" shot are slightly sharper....and what about a detail level?

Reduced to the "same size" a head of a Lighthouse crops(multiplied to 3 times from an original size)will show us the film detail advantage. The film is on the left side, digital on the right side. Moreover, the film have no detail destruction up to 7 times magnification is applied when! However, the digital have this one. Please, Look as the vertical line of a ladder and red hand-rail on the right is broken.

CONCLUSION.
I'm understand that a "Cleanliness" of my test is required a same point of view, scales and image resolution and etc. For example, Fuji S5Pro has the 12mp resolution, the 21mp Nikon 5000ED resolution instead. However, I do not think that the resolution the main moment here. In my opinion, the main thing is the size of a sensor. My experience shows, the APS-C camera's image have less details than a 35mm scan. Please, be not in earnest to my test too. Simply, this one more record in my blog ;)

Your camera's Dynamic Range

Do you know something about a Dynamic Range of an image? I think that many of us will say, "YES"! Moreover, I can say, "YES". If you need a strong definition of this subject, you can refer to a Cambridge In Color site. However, let me talk you little about the “Dynamic Range” of my camera-Fuji S5Pro. How good in yours cameras this task is resolved? Maybe, it will be useful for you too.
It’s no a “secret” that we have a combination a black and white "holes" on the image after shooting, even in right exposition terms. Why this happened?
First of all, there is a common technological limitation with an original photo sensor type connected which. You can eliminate this problem by a HDR technique using (shooting the same frame with the different exposition values and combine results into one frame with the HDR software then). However, original construction of the sensor can make “almost same work”. For example, look at the FUJI Super CCD SR II sensor type. This sensor has two types of photo detectors (S-“big” an R-“small”) with a different sensitivity. This will allow us to expose a too highlight (by R-detector) and too shadow (by S-detector) parts of a shooting scene simultaneously! To put it briefly, we can get hardware HDR in the camera. Moreover, the camera can CONTROL this process for a source shot improvement. The Dynamic Range can be changed from 1.3 up to 4 times!
Well, it is time for examples. Look at this shot of a street artist(PLEASE, CLICK ON THE ALL IMAGES, to feel difference ;) ),



Fuji S5Pro, Nikkor AF 180/2.8ED, 1/200, F10, ISO160. Standard mode, DR=100%

Lets try the Dynamic Range up to 130% to increase(the source shot with DR=100% is on a left).



Do you feel a difference?( Please, it is not necessary to look at moustaches. All is well visible on collar! ☺ )Ok, what’s happened if it will be accelerated up to 400%? No problem, look at this one:



The difference is a simply FANTASTIC!All of this manipulation are accessible in the CAMERA, directly!To say an another manner, FujiS5Pro have a PS inside.

Does you camera can make the same things? I don’t think so. Excluding the Fuji SPro, of course. ;-) Fujifilm old technologies are still working!

This is an NOT SO GOOD Dynamic Range example.

However, this shot a my Fuji S5Pro from is a better example in the DR terms

My Geography Examination

Hello Dear friends,

I was graduated at high school in 1981. Oh, then a two Universities was occurs in my life. However, the Geography course never was been in them.What my surprise when I have received the maximum estimation on a "Do you know Geography of the School Level?"You can check my "certificate" at the up side :)

By the way, only the 9 percent of Russian residents has made a right answers!
